Most urban settings do not contain ample green spaces, yet residents enjoy them. Creating usable green spaces for residents is a productive way to use a vacant site. There is huge demand for gardening opportunities in urban environments. We have recognized and responded to this need by integrating urban agricultural garden plots in several of our developments.
Located at Seymour and Pacific, this 35,000 square foot lot was a prime example of the urban agricultural approach. For 2 years, this site was home to a community garden where local residents grew their own food, flowers and plants. The garden was hugely successful and was a favourite place for many in the community. Urban gardens will be incorporated as a building amenity once the development is completed. Onni is confident that the new garden will be just as popular, and serve as a common area for community members to gather.
